New Delhi, Aug 27 (IBNS): The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is likely to invite Congress president Rahul Gandhi to attend a three-day lecture series by Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat next month, media reports said on Monday.

The idea is to invite different people from various ideologies for the event.

An invite may also be sent out to CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury.

The event will be held at Vigyan Bhavan from Sept 17 to 19.

The event has been named 'Future of Bharat: An RSS perspective' which will be conducted as a three-day lecture series.

Earlier, former President Pranab Mukherjee was invited at an RSS function.

Amid massive disappointment of his political clan, Pranab Mukherjee had then created history by addressing the event in Nagpur, invoking the spirit of nationalism and patriotism while calling for unity and plurality as the core ethos of India.

Sharing the stage with RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, he had urged everyone to believe in "One India, One identity."
