Ranchi, Aug 30 (IBNS): Former Bihar Chief Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad, who has been convicted in the fodder scam case, returned to jail on Thursday, after his plea to extend parole was rejected by the Jharkhand High Court last week.

Lalu's plea was rejected last Friday.

The court had directed the RJD chief to return to jail by Aug 30.

He was granted parole by the court on medical grounds.

The RJD chief was sentenced to several years in jail after he was convicted in three fodder cases, which dates back to 1990s.

Three more fodder cases are pending in the court.
