JNUSU election 2018: United Left wins four top posts

New Delhi, Sept 16 (IBNS):  The United Left kept its strong hold in Jawaharlal Nehru University intact as it won all the four central panel posts in the students’ union elections here on Sunday.

The results of the polls were announced on Sunday.

The results showed that N Sai Balaji of the United Left winning the president’s post.

He defeated ABVP rival Lalit Pandey by 1179 votes.

Out of the 5185 votes, Balaji polled 2161 votes against Pandey’s 982.

Apart from Balaji, Sarika Chaudhary (DSF) clinched the vice president’s post with 2692 votes.

ABVP’s Geetasri Boruah was defeated in the polls by Sarika.

Boruah was defeated by a margin of 1680 votes.

The united Left alliance had retained all the four seats in the polls last year as well.

They had defeated ABVP.
