Indian national arrested in Nepal with banned notes
Kathmandu, Sept 17 (IBNS): An Indian national was arrested with demonetized notes from Belauri Municipality-8 of Nepal on Sunday, media reports said on Monday.
Acting on a special tip off, police arrested Satman Singh (55), a resident of Pilibhit Gram Rajapuri Thana of India, with the banned Indian notes on Sunday evening, The Himalayan Times newspaper of Nepal reported.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Krishna Raj Ojha at District Police Office, Kanchanpur, told the newspaper that the police recovered Indian currency notes worth Rs 200,000 of Rs 500 denomination.
An investigation into the matter is currently going on.
