Kolkata, Oct 5 (IBNS): The Calcutta High Court on Friday issued an interim stay on West Bengal government's disbursement to all clubs organising Durga puja across the state, media reports said.

The puja disbursement was announced by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

The government was intended to spend Rs 28,000 crore for the puja, paying Rs 10,000 to each organiser.

The court has asked the government to show the guidelines on which the money will be given.

The government will have to appear before the court with all the answers next week.
