Amit Shah in Telangana, will address public meeting in Karimnagar today

Karimnagar, Oct 10 (IBNS): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah on Wednesday will address a public meeting at Karimnagar in poll-bound Telangana.

Shah will address the meeting at 4 pm. He will also meet the party workers and booth presidents during his stay in the southern state.

Telangana polls will be held on Dec 7. The counting of votes will take place on 11th of the same month.

The state polls have become necessary after Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao dissolved the assembly prematurely.

After visiting Telangana in mid-September, Shah had launched an attack on the acting-Chief Minister, saying the Rao government has failed "in every front".

Shah had said: "K. Chandrashekar Rao government has failed at every front, be it law and order or development."

The BJP president had also accused Rao-led Telangana Rashtriya Samithi (TRS) government of doing vote bank politics.

"TRS is doing politics of vote bank and appeasement in Telangana," said he.

The BJP is fighting alone in the state polls.

With the BJP still not having significant sway in Telengana, the Congress is the only party perceived to be a potent rival of the TRS.
