Steel Minister to visit Bhilai Steel Plant today

New Delhi, Oct 10 (IBNSA) :Union Minister of Steel, Chaudhary Birender Singh, will reach Bhilai Steel Plant today morning. The Minister will visit the hospital where the injured are admitted and are being treated.

Ministry of Steel has contacted Ministry of Health and four burns specialist doctors, from AIIMS Delhi, have been rushed to Bhilai for treatment of the injured. Based on the advice of the AIIMS burns specialists, the line of treatment is being followed and administered.          

Of the injured 3 are serious and in a critical condition. One person is on watch and the others are being given treatment for various stages of burn injuries. Ministry of Steel has already ordered an internal inquiry into the accident and concerned officers are reaching Bhilai today. An external inquiry has also been ordered by Ministry of Steel.

Yesterday morning, a fire broke out, during a scheduled maintenance job, in gas pipe line of Coke Oven Battery Complex No. 11 in the Bhilai Steel Plant. All the persons who lost their lives and suffered injuries are regular factory employees and had taken all precautions before carrying out the maintenance work. But in spite of that the unfortunate incident took place.

Minister of State for Steel, Vishnudeo Sai, Steel Secretary, Binoy Kumar and SAIL Chairman, Anil Kumar Chaudhary had rushed to Bhilai last evening and visited the hospital to enquire about the condition of the injured. Ministry of Steel and SAIL are providing all support to the families of the affected.
