Musician Annapurna Devi passes away

Mumbai, Oct 13 (IBNS): Hindustani classical musician Annapurna Devi passed away in Mumbai on Saturday.

She was 89.

Filmmaker AR Rahman condoled the death of the music icon and tweeted: "RIP ..respect #AnnapurnaDevi."

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee posted: "Saddened at the passing away of Annapurna Devi, the founder of Maihar Gharana. My condolences to her family and admirers."
