Jagan Mohan Reddy stabbed at Vizag airport by 'fan'
Vishakhapatnam, Oct 25 (IBNS): Andhra Pradesh politician and YSR Congress leader Jagan Mohan Reddy was on Thursday stabbed at the Vishakhapatnam airport by an employee who claimed to be his 'fan.'
The attacker, identified as J Sriniwas Rao, 30, was taking a selfie with Reddy when he stabbed the politician.
The 45-year-old YSR Congress leader received injury on his left shoulder after being stabbed with a sharp object -- a small blade apparently used in traditional bird fights.
Reacting to the incident, Reddy tweeted: "Such cowardice acts will not dissuade me but only strengthen my resolve to work for the people of my state."
To everyone worried about my safety - I’d like to inform you that I am safe. God's grace and the love, concern & blessings of the people of Andhra Pradesh will protect me. Such cowardice acts will not dissuade me but only strengthen my resolve to work for the people of my state!

According to reports, the attacker allegedly entered the VIP lounge to serve coffee and approached Reddy, who was sitting with his supporters.
He then claimed to have a selfie with Reddy.
When the politician obliged, Sriniwas allegedly pretended to take a picture and then struck him with the knife.
The YSR Congress chief was waiting for his flight to Hyderabad for a weekly court appearance in an illegal wealth case when he was attacked.
Even after the attack, he boarded the flight and on landing at Hyderabad, he was received by his supporters who came with ambulance.
Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu said he was shocked and had asked for a thorough investigation.
"Shocked by attack on Mr Jagan Reddy,Asked all agencies to investigate matter thoroughly, including @CISFHQrs .Asked secretary civil aviation to fix responsibility.I strongly condemn this cowardly attack,we will punish the guilty.Investigations are underway, started immediately," tweeted Prabhu.
