Assam: Seven killed and 24 others injured in two separate road mishaps

Guwahati, Nov 9 (IBNS): At least seven people were killed and 24 others injured in two separate road mishaps in Assam in past 24 hours.

The first incident took place on Koliabhumura bridge near Tezpur in Assam’s Sonitpur district where five people were died and 19 others injured after a passenger Traveller vehicle hit a running truck from back side last night.

Two people of the passenger vehicle died on spot and 22 others received serious injuries.

The injured persons were immediately rushed to Tezpur civil hospital and Tezpur Medical College hospital where three others succumbed their injuries.

In separate incident, two people died and five others injured that took place on National Highway – 37 at Rajapara area under Boko police station in Assam’s Kamrup district on Friday evening.

According to the reports, two people died on spot after head-on collision between a Maruti Wagon R car and a Tata Indica car.

Both cars were coming from the opposite direction.

The injured were immediately rushed to hospital.
