Senior Tata Steel executive shot dead by ex-employee in Faridabad

Fridabad, Nov 9 (IBNS): A senior executive of Tata Steel was shot dead at company's warehouse in Faridabad on Friday afternoon.

The victim, identified as Arindam Pal, senior manager (supplies) at the Tata Steel warehouse, was shot five time from a close range by a former employee of the company.

Station House Officer (SHO) of Mujesar Police Station Ashook Kumar said, "Arindam Pal, a senior manager (supplies) at Tata Steel & Power Co. warehouse at Bata Chowk under Majesar PS limits in Faridabad, was shot five times from point-blank range by a former employee of the company, Vishwas Pandey."

The accused was laid off about five months ago.

Claiming to settle final dues, he entered the company warehouse, located at Bata Chowk, about 10 kilometres from the city's border with New Delhi.

The accused, Vishwas Pandey, then directly entered the cabin of Arindam Pal and shot him shot him five times from point blank range.

Arindam Pal, who hailed from Contai in East Medinipore district of West Bengal, was rushed to a nearby hospital by his colleagues.

He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Vishwas Pandey reportedly escaped the scene from the rear gate of the warehouse after committing the crime.

A probe has been initiated into the incident while the victim's body has been sent for post-mortem.
