JU: TMCP holds rally in Kolkata
Nearly 8 thousand people joined the march which started from Academy of Fine Arts and ended at Mayo Road crossing near the heartland Esplanade.
After the march, a delegation led by TMCP state president Shankudeb Panda went to the Governor's place to submit a deputation and a VCD.
After submitting the deputation, Shankudeb said that they gave a VCD to the Governor which contained the actual video of the police action in JU.
The father of the JU student who was allegedly sexually harassed last month has urged students to with draw their agitation.
He has reportedly exuded confidence in the five-member panel formed to probe the alleged sexual harassment incident.
The vice-chancellor of Calcutta University Suranjan Das is heading the panel.
State education minister Partha Chatterjee and TMCP state president Shankudeb Panda went to victim's house on Sunday evening, report says.
On other side, JU protesters told in a press conference that their movement and class boycott would continued until the vice-chancellor submit his resignation.
They has called a mass convention on Wednesday at the JU campus and another protest march on Thursday towards the Lalbazar police headquarters.
