SC wasn't going in right direction under Mishra: Retired SC judge
New Delhi, Dec 1 (IBNS): Former Supreme Court judge Kurian Joseph said the country's top court "was not going in the right direction" under former Chief Justice of India Dipak Mishra.
In an interview to ANI, the former judge who retired from the Supreme Court said on Friday: "It was quite clear to all of us that at that time SC wasn't going in right direction. We pointed out many aspects and brought it to the notice of the then CJI [Justice Dipak Misra]. Seeing no result, we thought there was no other way than to bring it to public's notice."
Justice Joseph, along with his three colleagues, held an unprecedented news conference against the Chief Justice of India last January.
The situation is better now, he believes. "Steps are being taken. It will take time, it can't change on a single day because it's an institution and what we are standing for is an institutional system practices should be put in place."
