After BJP’s massive victory in Assam panchayat polls, its state president Ranjit Kumar Dass said that, it has happened only because of the party workers' intensive and dedicated efforts and as well as the support from both BJP-led union and state government to carry out the development schemes to the all sections of people.

“All party workers have intensively visited the rural areas. We have already appointed more than three lakh paging-charge across the state. Apart from it, we have set up 26,000 booth committees. All sections of people have supported us and we emerged as a largest party in Assam. No other political party can change our position,” Ranjit Kumar Dass said.

In last panchayat election held in 2013, the Congress captured maximum seats in all four-tier Panchayati Raj Institutions.
