Former Narendra Modi critic Gordhan Zadaphia was named the Uttar Pradesh in charge of the party in what is being seen as a spectacular comeback.
Zadaphia had left the BJP and contested against it before his return in 2014.
Party president Amit Shah also posted a video on Twitter urging people to donate between Rs 5 and Rs 1,000 using the Narendra Modi app.
Your small donations can make a BIG difference. Donate any amount between Rs 5 and 1000 using NM App and do your bit in realising PM @narendramodi's dream of a #NewIndia.
