Retired judges should not hold any constitutional post: CJI
New Delhi, Sept 26 (IBNS): Chief Justice of India (CJI) RM Lodha on Friday said that Supreme Court and High Court judges should not accept constitutional posts.
"In my view, no judges should accept any constitutional posts immediately after retirement. There should be a cooling off period of two years before any post-retirement appointment is accepted by the judge," he said.
His statement comes after former CJI P Sathasivam accepted the post of Kerala Governor by the NDA government.
