Cancellation of Foreign Secretary-level talks a missed oppurtunity: Nawaz

New York, Sept 26 (IBNS): Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday said India has "missed oppurtunity" to address outstanding issues after it cancelled the Foreign Secretary-level talks between the two nations last month.

Sharif said the core issue of Jammu and Kashmir has to be resolved.

Speaking at the United Nations General Assembly, Sharif said: "We were disappointed at the cancellation of the Foreign Secretary-level talks by India. The world community too rightly saw it as another missed oppurtunity.
Pakistan is convinced that we must remain engaged in dialogue process for settling dispute and building economic and trade relations."

Speaking on the Kashmir issue, Sharif said: "The core issue of Jammu and Kashmir has to be resolved. This is the responsibility of the international community."

Meanwhile, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday arrived in New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly here.
