Media wrongly label SP MLA as BJP leader who served liquor at an event
Hardoi, Jan 8 (IBNS): People attending an event organised by Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Nitin Agrawal in Uttar Pradesh's Hardoi on Sunday were served liquor bottles in their lunch boxes, media reports said.
However, several news websites wrongly labelled Nitin as Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA.
Nitin along with his politician father Naresh Agrawal hosted Pasi Sammelan at the Shravan Devi temple in Hardoi.
People attending the event were taken aback as they opened their lunch boxes and found liquor bottles along with "poori and sabzi."
The same packets were also distributed to minor boys.
Naresh, who was formerly with the SP, left the party and joined BJP last year.
This happened after SP chose actress Jaya Bachchan as its candidate for the Rajya Sabha elections instead of Naresh.
In an attempt to support Naresh's membership to Rajya Sabha, Nitin had reportedly voted for the BJP.
However, Nitin is still a member of the SP and an MLA from Hardoi constituency.
