Jind, Jan 28 (IBNS): Voting is currently going on for the Jind by-polls in Haryana which is seeing a tough fight between the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday.
Amid security, voting started at 7 am.
Over 3,000 Haryana Police personnel and para-military forces have been deployed in the constituency for the polls.
Over 1.72 lakh registered voters are likely to exercise their franchise till 5 pm and decide the fates of the 21 candidates.
The results will be announced on Thursday.
The key battle is between Congress candidate Randeep Surjewala, Dr Krishna Middha from BJP, Yash Singh from INLD and Digvijay Chautala from JJP.
Apart from Jind, voting for the polls in Rajasthan's Ramgarh constituency is also taking place today.
Polling is taking place in 278 booths.
Nearly 2 lakh 35625 voters will exercise their franchise in the polls.
