New Delhi, Jan 28 (IBNS): Stirring a fresh row, Union Minister Anantkumar Hegde on Sunday said hands of those who touch Hindu women should be cut irrespective of their caste and religion, media reports said.

Hegde, who frequently makes controversial statements, was present at an event in Karnataka's Kodagu district where he said as quoted by News 18, "There should be a fundamental shift in our thinking. We should keenly observe what’s happening around us. Regardless of caste and religion, a hand that touches a Hindu girl should not exist."

Recently the Karnataka MP also termed the two women's entry into Kerala's Sabarimala Temple amid resistance from Lord Ayyappa devotees as an act of daylight rape of Hindus.

He even attacked the Left, which is the ruling party of Kerala, over the Sabarimala issue.

Earlier Hegde, who is the Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, had also said the BJP has come to power to change the constitution and would also do it in future.
