After 'Hindu women' comment, Anantkumar Hegde refers to Cong leader's 'Muslim' wife

New Delhi, Jan 28 (IBNS): After stirring controversy with his "Hindu women" comment a day ago, Union Minister Anantkumar Hegde on Monday referred to Congress leader Dinesh Gundu Rao's "Muslim" wife in a Twitter spat.

Slamming Hegde, who on Sunday said hands of those who touch Hindu women should be cut irrespective of their caste and religion, Rao tweeted, "Wht are ur achievements after becoming a Union Minister or as MP? Wht are ur contributions for Karnataka’s development? All I can say for sure,it’s deplorable tht such people have become ministers & have managed to get elected as MP’s."

Hitting back at the Karnataka Congress president, Hegde dragged Rao's wife to say, "I shall definitely answer this guy @dineshgrao's queries, before which could he please reveal himself as to who he is along with his achievements? I only know him as a guy who ran behind a Muslim lady."

Countering such a remark from Hegde, who is the Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Rao tweeted back to say, "Sad to see @AnantkumarH stoop to such low levels as to bring in personal issues. Guess it’s his lack of culture. Guess he hasn’t learnt from our Hindu scriptures. Time hasn’t run out, he can still try and become a more dignified human."

Some of Hegde's controversial statements:

Hegde, who is an MP from Karnataka, earlier termed the two women's entry into Kerala's Sabarimala Temple amid resistance from Lord Ayyappa devotees as an act of daylight rape of Hindus.

He even attacked the Left, which is the ruling party of Kerala, over the Sabarimala issue.

Earlier Hegde, who is the Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, had also said the BJP has come to power to change the constitution and would also do it in future.
