Supreme Court order likely today on tussle between AAP-led Delhi govt and LG
New Delhi, Feb 14 (IBNS): The Supreme Court on Thursday is likely to pronounce its verdict on the tussle between AAP-led Delhi government and Lieutenant Governor (LG) over their sharing of powers.
On July 4, a five-judge bench of the Supreme Court led by then Chief Justice of India, Dipak Misra, said the LG can't be an "obstructionist" and is only the "administrative head".
The Supreme Court had said: "Powers must be with the elected government. LG is an administrator." It had also said the cabinet must convey all decisions to the LG but his concurrence is not required in all matters.
However, the court did not spell out how the powers will be distributed between the government and LG.
The apex court verdict is reserved since Nov 1.
