Amethi, Feb 21 (UNI) With poll bugle already sounded, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit Amethi, the parliamentary constituency of Congress president Rahul Gandhi, on March 3 to inaugurate a project.

During his brief visit to Amethi, the Prime Minister will inaugurate new unit of the Munshiganj Ordinance factory, which manufactures assault rifles and will address a public meeting thereafter.

Union Textile Minister Smriti Irani, who had contested the 2014 Lok Sabha polls from here against Mr Gandhi would be present in the Prime Minister's programme, said a senior BJP leader here on Thursday.

Mr Modi was slated to visit Amethi on February 27, but on Wednesday, it was postponed.

BJP's Amethi unit was working overtime to woo the people for the PM's rally, which will be an occasion for the party to launch poll campaign against Mr Gandhi in his constituency.
