New Delhi, Feb 21(UNI) In yet another crackdown against Pakistan in the wake of Pulwama attack, the Indian Government on Thursday decided to stop the flow of water from eastern rivers to Pakistan.

In a series of tweets, Union Minister for Water Resources Nitin Gadkari said, ''Under the leadership of Hon'ble PM Sri @narendramodi ji, Our Govt. has decided to stop our share of water which used to flow to Pakistan. We will divert water from Eastern rivers and supply it to our people in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab''.

''The construction of dam has started at Shahpur-Kandi on Ravi river. Moreover, UJH project will store our share of water for use in J&K and the balance water will flow from 2nd Ravi-BEAS Link to provide water to other basin states,'' the Minister added.

He said all these projects have been declared as the National Projects.

''All the above Projects are declared as the National projects,'' Mr Gadkari tweeted.

The move comes close on the heels of withdrawing MFN status to Pakistan and imposition of 200 per cent tariff on the goods exported from Pakistan to India.

Stopping of water flow is seen as one more step in India's crackdown against western neighbour after the dastardly Pulwama attack of February 14 which left more than 40 Army personnel dead.
