Pulwama aftermath: Following India's action, Pak bans Hafiz Saeed's Jamaat-ud-Dawa
Islamabad/New Delhi, Feb 21 (IBNS): Following a series of strong actions by India against its neighbour over the Pulwama attack, Pakistan on Thursday banned 2008 Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed-led Jamat-ud-Dawa and its charity arm Falah-e-Insaniat Foundation (FIF).
Media reports stated a spokesman of the Interior Ministry in Pakistan said that the decision was made at a meeting of the National Security Committee (NSC) chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan at his office on Thursday.
Among key outcomes of the meeting was an order to accelerate anti-terrorism operations in the country to re-establish the state's writ, and the reinstatement of a ban on the Hafiz Saeed-led Jamaatud Dawa (JuD) and its charity arm, the Falah-i-Insaniyat Foundation (FIF), reported Dawn.
Pakistan's step came a week after over 40 Indian paramilitary personnel were martyred in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. The attack was claimed by Pakistan-based militant organisation, Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).
India acts tough:
In an immediately retaliation, the Indian Army killed JeM chief Masood Azhar's aide Kamran, who is believed to be the Pulwama attack mastermind.
Acting tough against its neighbour, India withdrew the Most Favoured Nation (MFN) Status of Pakistan and hiked customs duty on all goods exported from Pakistan to 200 per cent.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Thursday informed that India will block the flow of its share of waters from eastern rivers to Pakistan.
In a tweet, Gadkari wrote: "Under the leadership of Hon'ble PM Sri @narendramodi ji, Our Govt. has decided to stop our share of water which used to flow to Pakistan. We will divert water from Eastern rivers and supply it to our people in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab."

Gadkari in a series of tweets wrote: "The construction of dam has started at Shahpur- Kandi on Ravi river. Moreover, UJH project will store our share of water for use in J&K and the balance water will flow from 2nd Ravi-BEAS Link to provide water to other basin states."

No condolences by Imran Khan before banning:
Even if the Pakistan Prime Minister banned Jamat-ud-Dawa on Thursday, earlier Khan did not even condole the deaths of over 40 army men.
Khan issued a warning to say, "If India begins a war, Pakistan won't hold back but retaliate. It is easy to start a war but not to end."
Responding to India's blame on Pakistan over the deadly attack in Jammu and Kashmir, the Pakistani Prime Minister said he will take action if his neighbouring country can furnish proofs.
