Srinagar, Feb 23 (IBNS): At a time the Army is continuing a major crackdown on separatists in the aftermath of Pulwama terror attack, the Centre has sent additional companies of paramilitary forces to Jammu and Kashmir, media reports said.

The companies of paramilitary forces have been sent on an urgent basis.

The soldiers have been airlifted to Srinagar a day after separatist Yasin Malik was arrested.

The development came days after over 40 paramilitary personnel were martyred in the Pulwama terror attack, which took place last week.

The attack was carried out by Pakistan-based militant organisation, Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).

In less than 100 hours, the Army claimed it has killed JeM chief Masood Azhar's aide Kamran, who is believed to be the Pulwama attack mastermind.
