New Delhi, Feb 26 (UNI/IBNS) : The Border Security Force (BSF) is on highest alert on Northern and Western international border, a senior Government functionary in the Home Ministry said here on Tuesday.

“The border guarding force BSF has been put on highest alert after the Pulwama terror attack on CRPF convoy on February 14.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has recalibrated the Central Armed Police Forces( CAPF) on Saturday and made extra deployment of 10,000 additional jawans in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Home Ministry sources have also confirmed that the BSF and other CAPF in J&K have ordered to retaliate with full might if Pakistan opens fire on international border or Line of Control.

The Central Reserve Police Force and other CAPFs are also on highest alert within Jammu and Kashmir to thwart any terror attack.

The Intelligence agencies have sent alert to the Government that more terror attacks may be executed by the terror groups like Jaish-e-Mohammad and other groups in other parts of the country.

Punjab, Delhi, Mumbai and other metro cities are also put on highest alert. Places of high footfalls like airports, railway stations, bus terminus and shopping complexes are under tight security by the local police and CAPFs.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and updated him about the security situations in Jammu and Kashmir.
