Intel agency warns of poisoning ration stocks for security forces in Jammu and Kashmir
New Delhi, Mar 2 (UNI/IBNS) Amid escalating tension with Pakistan after the Pulwama attack on February 14 and subsequent airstrike by India on terror camps in Pakistan on February 26, an Intelligence unit in Jammu and Kashmir warned the security agencies that Pakistani Military intelligence (MI) and Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) may poison the ration stocks for security forces in Jammu and Kashmir, a fresh intelligence note said.
In advisory sent to heads of security forces in Jammu and Kashmir, the intelligence note said “Chatter floated by a Pakistani number claimed that Pakistani ISI and its agents operating in Kashmir were planning to mix poison in ration stocks of security forces deployed in the region”.
The advisory has suggested the concerned officials to take necessary steps to ensure adequate security of the ration depots of all security camps especially in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Moreover, the ration being procured for the use of security forces across the country shall be subjected to frequent checks to rule out any untoward incidents or attempt”, the advisory reads further.
The fresh intelligence note has emerged as the situation in Kashmir remains tense owing to cross-border conflict. Three civilians were killed on Friday in Kashmir in fresh cross-border shelling by the Pakistani military.
