West Bengal: 3 teens hurt in Malda blast

Malda, Mar 3 (UNI): Three teenagers were injured in a blast at Malda, and roofs of two adjoining houses in Birbhum district were blown off in another explosion, police investing the double blasts said today.

Three boys, identified as Rafiqul Sheikh (16), Jahid Sheikh (15) and sixteen-year-old Chand Mian, suffered injuries when a bomb went off at a garbage bin at Kumarganj under Pukuria police station in Malda.

The trio saw a plastic bag in the garbage bin and when one of them picked it up, it exploded.

The three have been taken to the Malda Medical College and Hospital where the medics said they were out of danger. Two of the injured have been admitted to the government hospital.

Roof of two houses blown off in explosion

In another explosion at Kurnahar under Labhpur block in Birbhum district, roof of two adjoining houses were blown off after a major explosion this morning.

No one was hurt.

Police investigating whether cooking gas cylinder exploded or explosives went off.

Local people said the houses that suffered damage were belong to people who manufacture crackers.

A car and a motor cycle were also damaged.
