Differently-abled girl gang raped in Assam’s Nagaon district

Guwahati, Mar 4  (IBNS): A differently-abled girl was allegedly gang raped in Assam’s Nagaon district on Sunday night.

The incident took place at Halodhibari area under Kachua police station in the central Assam district, where the girl was allegedly gang raped by a gang of seven members at a paddy field.

Locals said the girl came out from her home after a hawker told her to give cloths, ornaments etc.

The unidentified man took her to a nearby paddy field, where seven persons raped her.

The culprits fled from the area after committing the crime.

Locals knew about the incident after the girl reached at her home on Monday morning.

A local woman said that, the victim girl came out from her home at around 4:30 pm on Sunday as a hawker told her to give cloths, ornaments etc.

“The differently-abled girl was lured by the man. We had found liquor bottles and other items from the spot. They had left the girl at around 3 am today and she reached at her home in serious condition,” the local woman said.

Later, the victim was admitted to a hospital.

Meanwhile, police have registered a case at Kachua police station and launched an operation to nab the culprits.
