Jammu and Kashmir: 3 Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists killed

Srinagar, Mar 11 (IBNS): During a gun battle with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's  Tral region on Sunday, at least three Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists were killed, police said on Monday.

As per a Daily Excelsior report, a joint team of Army’s 42 RR, 180 batallion of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Police launched cordon and search operation in Pinglish village after reports about presence of three militants in the village including one local Mudasir Ahmad and two foreigners.

"As the search party reached near the house in which militants were hiding, they were fired upon by militants from inside the house, triggering a gun battle. The troops encircled the house trapping them inside," reported the newspaper.

At the end of the gunfight, three terrorists were killed in the incident.

According to reports,  two AK-47 rifles and one pistol were recovered from the spot.

The identities of the terrorists are still not known.

The Kashmir Zone Police tweeted: "#Tral #encounter update: So far dead bodies of two #terrorists affiliated with proscribed #terror outfit #JeM retrieved from site of encounter. #Incriminatingmaterials including arms & ammunition recovered. Searches still in progress. Further details shall follow. @JmuKmrPolice."
