Mumbai: Several illegal political outdoor ads pulled down

Mumbai, Mar 17 (UNI) Around 11,558 illegal political outdoor advertisements across Mumbai Suburban District have been taken down to strictly adhere to the norms of electoral Model Code of Conduct in accordance with the 17th Lok Sabha polls,informed an election official.

The official further informed that a total of sixteen police complaints have been filed in the past week against such illegal hoardings and other forms of outdoor ads.


Breaking up the data,the official stated that 9,298 outdoor ads have been removed from public domains and the remaining 2,260 hoardings were rolled down from private spaces.


The police personnel and the civic body officials are jointly carrying out the task of removing the unauthorized political ads dangling in the public spaces and elsewhere, added the official.
