Lucknow, Mar 23 (UNI) On the expected lines, BJP at last dropped Mriganka Singh as the party candidate from Kairana Lok Sabha seat in west Uttar Pradesh on Saturday.

Instead, BJP decided to field, BJP MLA from Gangoh, Pradeep Choudhury from Kairana.

BJP announced three candidates of Nagina, Bulandshahr and Kairana. In both the Nagina and Bulandshahr seats, the party repeated the sitting MP Dr Yashwant and Bhola Singh respectively.

Mriganka, lost to SP's Nahid Hasan in the 2017 assembly polls and later when her father died she lost in the bypolls in 2018 against joint opposition candidate and mother of Nahid, Tabassum Hasan.

BJP instead gave ticket to a Jat leader and sitting BJP legislator Pradeep Choudhury from Kairana to change their luck. Choudhury before joining the BJP in 2017 during the assembly polls was a Congress leader and had won the assembly polls with a Congress ticket.

With these three tickets, now BJP has announced 31 candidates in UP so far with replacing six sitting MPs including a union minister.
