| @indiablooms | 25 Mar 2019, 01:21 pm

New Delhi, Mr 25 (UNI) Jharkhand RJD leader and former cabinet minister Annapurna Devi along with former MLA Janardan Paswan joined the BJP on Monday.

Devi has been tipped to join the BJP and in mostly likely will be the party's candidate from the Koderma Lok Sabha seat of the state.

Paswan won from Chatra constituency in Jharkhand in 2009 on RJD seat.

The RJD, which is part of Mahagathbandhan in Jharkhand comprising the JMM and the Congress, had been demanding Koderma and Chatra seats for the party but was only given Chatra as Koderma went to former Chief Minister and JVM(P) supremo Babulal Marandi.

Devi and Paswan met BJP president Amit Shah here where Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das and party general secretary Bhupendra Yadav were also present.

Inspired by the charismatic leadership, developmental work and ideology of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Devi and Paswan joined the saffron party and met Shah, Mr Raghuwar Das said in his tweet.

Das welcomed Ms Annapurna Devi in the party and said that the country loves Mr Modi and every segment of the society want him back as prime minister.

Koderma Lok Sabha seat of the state is currently represented by Dr Ravindra Kumar Rai of the BJP.
