Tejaswi Surya is BJP nominee in Bangalore South, Ananth Kumar's wife denied ticket
New Delhi, Mar 25 (UNI) In the fresh list of candidates released by the BJP CEC on Monday late night, Late Union Minister Ananth Kumar's wife Tejaswini has been denied ticket from Bangalore South and instead the party has reposed faith in L S Tejaswi Surya, a lawyer and an active youth leader of the party.
According to the new list of candidates announced by BJP CEC secretary and Union Minister J P Nadda, the party nominee from Bangalore Rural will be Ashwat Narain while in Assam's political sensitive Nowgong, the party candidate will be Rupak Sharma.
The BJP has denied ticket to Union Minister of State for Railways Rajen Gohain, who has been representing Nowgong parliamentary seat since 1999.
Rupak Sharma is party's Nowgong Sadar assembly constituency legislator.
BJP sources also said that the party nominee for Bangalore South Tejaswi's uncle - Ravi Subramanya is the BJP MLA from Basawanagudi segment in Bengaluru.
Apparently, Tejaswi's Brahmin background and also good RSS backing has helped him to get the crucial seat.
He is also known for good oratory skills.
The BJP on Monday night also announced the name of Rajveer Singh Balmiki as party candidate from Hathras SC reserved Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh.
In 2014, Rajesh Kumar Diwakar had won the seat as BJP candidate.
The BJP CEC meet attended among others by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and key party leaders and Union Ministers also cleared the name of Sanat Gadita as party candidate for Bijepur assembly seat in Odisha.
