Gandhinagar, Mar 29 (UNI): In what has come as a major embarrassment for the BJP in this election-season, Gujarat BJP president Jeetu Vaghani's son was caught copying in a college examination.

Meet Vaghani, a second semester BCA student in Swami Vivekanand College of Computer Sciences, was caught indulging in malpractice during the exam yesterday.

The BJP leader said his son should be treated as a common student.

The principal of MJ College of Commerce had caught him at the examination centre and recovered at least 27 papers meant for copying from his possession. The matter was immediately reported to the vice-chancellor of Bhavnagar University and the material was handed over to the concerned exam committee for further action.

Talking to reporters today, Vaghani said that even though the matter was with the committee now, his family has taken the decision that his son would not sit for the rest of his examinations.

The ppposition Congress has alleged that the education system in the state under BJP had been completely destroyed.

Congress spokesperson Manish Doshi said that it shows that the BJP leaders who claim to be chowkidars (guards) were in fact thieves.
