Gandhinagar, Mar 30 (IBNS): Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah will file his nomination from Gandhinagar Lok Sabha seat on Saturday.

According to some media reports, union ministers Rajnath Singh and Nitin Gadkari and leaders of BJP's allies such as Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, SAD supremo Parkash Singh Badal and LJP founder Ram Vilas Paswan are expected to be present while Shah files his nomination papers.

"He will file the nomination at 12:30 pm on Saturday in the presence of Home Minister Rajnath Singh, former chief minister of Punjab Parkash Singh Badal, Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, Lok Janshakti Party president Ram Vilas Paswan and BJP’s national general secretary Ram Lal," Mahendra Panday, BJP secretary, told India Today.

Shah replaced BJP patriarch LK Advani as a candidate in the Gandhinagar seat this year.

Advani had been winning the polls from the seat since 1998.

Shah was earlier elected to the Rajya Sabha from Gujarat.

Polling for all the seats in Gujarat will take place on Apr 23.

This is the first time Shah will be contesting the Lok Sabha polls.

Shah will also participate in a roadshow and address a rally before filing his nomination paper.
