Maharashtra: Model code of conduct violated, notice issued

Nanded, Apr 2 (UNI) A show cause notice have been served to the two independent candidates and persons who campaigned for them on social media for violating the Model code of conduct in the Nanded Parliamentary constituency, the returning officer collector Arun Dongre said.

To keep a watch on violation of the Model Code of Conduct the Certifing and Controlling Committee has been appointed to keep watch on various media like WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, newspapers, local news channels, radio, television and other medias.

Sailesh Nandkumar Mukhedkar sent a message to campaign for the BJP using the technology appealing to the people to come together.

The committee found that this message was posted without taking permission of the Committee.

In an another incident WhatsApp group admin Dr Manisha Kakade using Sakal Maratha Shiv Janmotsav group appealed people to elect the Congress candidate. This group included Dr Smita Gaikwad, Jayshree Pawde, Sangita Patil, Avinash Kadam Pratibha Patil Surekha Ravangaonkar and Rajesh Mrajkar.

Returning officer issued show cause notice to all these persons.

This also included Prabhakar Pandey who campaigned for the BJP on Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi Nanded official Facebook page.

In case of paid news Dongre has also issued a notice to two independent candidates Dr Mahesh Talegaonkar and Ashok Chavan (Loha) forgetting their news about campaigning for themselves published in the dailys like Shramik Ekjut and Nanded Ekjut in the issues of March 31.
