Will organise a successful brigade rally of PM Modi: Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh

Kolkata, Apr 2 (IBNS): A day ahead of the mega rally of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the iconic Brigade Parade ground here, West Bengal Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Dilip Ghosh on Tuesday exuded confidence in organising a successful rally.

Referring to the recent brigade rallies of the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Left , Ghosh said the BJP took a short period of time for preparation of Modi's brigade rally.

"They (TMC and Left) took long time for the preparation of the brigade rallies but remained unsuccessful. We just got 10 days. Modi's rally on Wednesday will be historic. We will organise a successful brigade," the state unit chief said.

Not only brigade, Modi will hold a rally at Siliguri in north Bengal on Wednesday.

Two Lok Sabha constituencies in West Bengal- Alipurduar and Coochbehar- will go to polls in the first phase on Apr 11.

BJP, which is the buoyant force in the eastern state, had won two seats in the 2014 General Elections.

After emerging as the main challenger to TMC in the state in recent by-polls, the BJP is claiming to win 23 seats from West Bengal in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC chief, Mamata Banerjee, too will kick-start her poll campaign on Wednesday at Coochbehar in north Bengal itself.

On Jan 19, Banerjee held a mega rally at the Brigade Parade ground with a host of anti-BJP leaders as well as saffron party rebel Shatrughan Sinha.

On Feb 3, all Left parties targeted both BJP and TMC from the same iconic ground.
