Mayawati blames BJP, Congress and BJD for plight of Dalits and minorities

Bhubaneswar, Apr 2 (UNI): Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati today blamed the BJP, Congress and the BJD for the plight of the backward and minorities people.

Launching the election campaign for her party here, Mayawati said atrocities against the backward and minority communities have increased during the rule of Congress, BJP and the BJD.

She criticised the BJP, BJD and the Congress for ignoring the Dalits and the minorities.

The BSP, which has decided to field candidates for Koraput, Nabarangpur and Kalahandi Lok Sabha seats and in all the Assembly constituencies under them, criticized the BJD government for its failure to fill up vacancies in the reserved category in the state.

She said both the BJP and the Congress were corrupt. While the BJP government was involved in Rafale scam, the Congress government was involved in Bofors scam.

She said the GST introduced by the BJP government led to the rise in unemployment and the demonetisation hit small businessmen and traders hard.

The BSP leader dubbed the ‘Mai Bhi Chowkidar’ campaign of the BJP as a “drama” and said it would not help the party in the election.
