Palghar, Apr 3 (UNI) Two persons were arrested on Tuesday for allegedly possessing two alive sand boa snakes valuing up to Rs 1.50 crore, the District Police said on Wednesday.
Based on a tip-off, the sleuths kept a strict vigil around the Manor town of this district and later nabbed the duo, seizing the reptiles from their possession, said police.
"The accused duo identified as Sunil Dhanawa (46) and Pawan Bhoya (38) were arrested under relevant sections of the Wildlife Protection Act of 1972," police spokesperson Hemant Katkar informed.
