Lok Sabha Polls 2019: MKS fields Akshay Sanap from Mumbai North central
Mumbai, April 5 (UNI) Maharashtra Kranti Sena(MKS), a political outfit spearheaded by Suresh Patil, has fielded 28-year-old Akshay Sanap to contest the ongoing LS polls from Mumbai North Central seat.
Talking to UNI after filing his nomination here on Friday, Sanap said that he decided to enter the electoral fray owing to the apathy displayed by young generation towards elections.
"Voting day is perceived as a holiday and majority youths don't bother to exercise their suffrage rights,I want to change this thought-process,I want them to vote", he said.
Sanap urged the youth who are missing on their democratic right of voting to take part in election process, saying "its completely fine if I am not their choice. But,my primary objective is that they must vote."
He mentioned "During poll campaigns,I would not cross the line of modesty and never smear the respect of other contenders."
BJP's Poonam Mahajan is the sitting MP from Mumbai North Central seat and she is pitted against Congress's Priya Dutt. Priya Dutt lost the seat to Poonam Mahajan during 2014 polls.
Mr Sanap further said that he regards both these women as sisters and the same respect for the two of them will be seen in his poll campaigns.
Categorically terming the PM MUDRA Scheme "flop",Sanap said that to avail the scheme one has to go through a complex layer of formalities and produce a stack of documents owing to which many applicants drop in the middle of process.
"The Prime Minister Narendra Modi didn't fulfill any of his promises made during 2014 Lok Sabha polls and most suffering are farmers, among which 11,995,have committed suicide pan-India," Sanap alleged.
When queried about public welfare plans if elected, Mr Sanap answered that he is fighting the polls to win and he would primarily take up the issue of Mithi River cleanup. Mithi River flows along the Kurla, Dharavi, Mahim, and other suburbs before finally merging into the Arabian Sea.
He claimed that he has some job-creation plans on mind but he doesn't want to reveal them at present.
Lastly, he said that his party aspires to transform Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's dream of Swarajya (self-governance) into Surajya (good-governance).
Tracing his ancestral roots from Nashik, Sanap has studied till second year of graduation and resides in Kurla,a neigbourhood in East Mumbai.
A transgender Sneha Nivrutti Kale is also contesting as an Independent from the Mumbai North Central seat as she filed her nomination on April 3.
