Modi announces compensation for villagers affected by Pak firing

Amaravati, Oct 10 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced compensation for the villagers in Jammu & Kashmir who are affected by Pak firing and who are forced to leave their homes.

Modi felt that the main reason behind Pakistan declined their aggression because they have been taught a "befitting lesson" with the Army "shutting their mouth".

Delivering a speech during election rally at Amaravati in Maharashtra, where he was busy campaigning for BJP ahead of upcoming Assembly polls in the state, Modi said: "Pakistan has got a befitting lesson. They will not dare to repeat it again. Our jawans have shut their mouth."

The Prime Minister realized those living close to the border with Pakistan who had to leave their homes following nine days of heavy mortar shelling and firing.

He directed that people who have been displaced from the border villages of Jammu and Kashmir due to dastardly acts by Pakistan over the last few days, be suitably compensated.

"I assure you, the government of India will act promptly to provide adequate compensation to those who had to leave their homes due to shelling and migrate elsewhere," he said.

Modi took a dig on main rival Congress, who questioned his “silence” on border tension by saying, “Congress is busy issuing statements over what is happening on the Pakistan border. This is not the time for empty 'boli' (talk) by them, but for 'goli' (bullet) by our jawans.”

Earlier on Thursday also Modi attacked his detractors on this very issue by saying that this time its soldiers, not politicians who should reply.
