Jaipur, Apr 12 (UNI) A woman was allegedly gang-raped in Rajasthan's Ajmer district, police said on Friday.

The woman, a resident of Palanpur in Gujarat, visited Ajmer to offer prayer at the 13th century dargah of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti.

The woman, who was staying in a hotel, hired an auto-rickshaw for dargah on Thursday evening but the three-wheeler driver on the pretext of taking her via short route, took her to a house in Subhash Nagar in Ramganj. People, who were present in the house, snatched woman's gold chain, mobile and cash and gang-raped her.

Ramganj station in-charge Gomaram said that on an FIR filed by the victim, three people have been arrested and search was on to nab other accused.

Superintendent of Police Kunwar Rashtradeep said the 27-year-old victim was gang-raped by eight men.

She is undergoing treatment at Jawahar Lal Nehru Hospital.

The looted booty was recovered, the SP added.

Investigation was on.
