Maharashtra Sadan scam: DA case filed against ex- PWD under-secretary
Thane, April 13, (UNI) The Anti Corruption Bureau(ACB) here on Friday booked offences against a 54-year-old senior-ranking official in Maharashtra goverment for allegedly having assets disproportionate to his income, Additional Superintendent of Police Kisan Gavli said.
According to ACB, the accused official Sanjay Solanki's name propped up in the multi-crore Maharashtra Sadan scam,in which serious allegations were levelled against the the former Deputy Chief Minister Chaggan Bhujbal.
During the Maharashtra Sadan scam,accused Solanki was the Under-Secretary at the Public Works Department and at present he holds the post of the Executive Engineer of Implementation Cell of Town Planning at Nagpur.
While inquiring against the accused official,the ACB investigation team on December 30 of 2015 found assets valuing up to Rs 41,31,135 which exceeded the legal income of Solanki,a release stated.
The value of assets mismatched Solanki's income during his service between December 3,1985 and June 11, 2015.
The Wagle Estate Police Station on Friday registered offences against the accused under the relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and Solanki's wife Vijaya has been charged for abetting the crime,mentioned the release.
In June 2015,Solanki was suspended for his alleged involvement in the Maharashtra Sadan scam,the ACB have earlier named him in the Kalina land deal scam too.
