Accused nabbed from Chambal Division for committing homicide near Mumbai
Thane, April 17 (UNI) After a 12-year-run, the City Police has arrested the main accused from Madhya Pradesh in alleged murder of an overseas job consultant in this district in the year 2007, the Deputy Commissioner Of Police(DCP) Crime Deepak Deoraj informed on Wednesday.
However, the other three accomplices are still on the run.
Briefing mediapersons here, the DCP stated that the 27-year-old victim Shailendra Singh Shekhawat took consulting fees from two accused-Narendra Singh Rajavat and Pintu Singh Rajavat.
Neither Shailendra procured jobs for two accused nor returned the consulting fees which annoyed the duo, said the DCP.
The two accused colluded with other two persons--Rajkumar Bahadursingh Rajawat and Rishi Dong--murdered Shailendra by strangulating him and later dumped his body, mentioned the DCP.
On March 21 of 2007,the Vishnu Nagar Police Station booked all the four accused under the IPC section 302 (punishment for murder) and other relevant charges, added the DCP.
Acting on a tip-off,the Thane Crime Branch sleuths traced the accused Rajkumar, who was holed up in his hometown in Raun taluka of Bhind district, which comes under Chambal division, the DCP said.
The Thane Crime Branch sleuths camped in Bhind for 15 days and were assisted by the local Aswal Police when they arrested the accused Rajkumar on April 15.
The DCP further said that the sleuths intricately planned the operation as it was carried out in dreaded Chambal valley.
He affirmed that the remaining trio accused will be traced soon.
