Srinagar, Apr 18 (UNI) Hitting out at BJP for naming Sadhvi Pragya Thakur, who is out on bail in the 2008 Malegaon blasts case, as its candidate from Bhopal parliamentary constituency, former J&K chief minister Omar Abdullah alleged that the saffron party is making mockery of the legal system with this move.

Mr Abdullah, who is the Vice President of National Conference (NC), said Thakur, an under-trial, who stands accused of terrorism; is out on bail on health grounds. However, he said she clearly is healthy enough to fight election in the crippling summer heat.

“What a mockery of the legal system the BJP has made with its candidate for Indore! A person, an under-trial, who stands accused of terrorism; out on bail on health grounds but clearly healthy enough to fight elections in the crippling summer heat. Hindutva rules!” Mr Abdullah wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.

Sadhvi Pragya, who formally joined the BJP on Wednesday, will contest against senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh from Bhopal parliamentary constituency.
