Returning Officer and DM Dhalai served notice to BJP candidate

Udaipur, Apr 18 (UNI) It has been informed by the East Tripura Returning Officer and Dhalai District Magistrate (DM) Vikas Singh that a notice was served to BJP candidate of East Tripura parliamentary constituency seat for spending election funds exceeding the limit.

The East Tripura Returning Officer, overseeing the election in the state, on Wednesday served a show-cause notice to BJP candidate Rebati Kumar Tripura for spending election funds beyond the fixed limit an amount of Rs 70 lakh.

The Election Commission has decided on the basis of reports submitted by the Chief Election Officer of the State, the special police observer of Tripura and the reports of the Returning Officers and others source of information received by the Election Commission, it has decided that the pool schedule to be taken on 18th April 2019 in the 2-Tripura East (ST) Parliamentary Constituency may be deferred and that it should be taken on 23rd April 2019.

The law and order situation was not satisfactory in the first phase of election in Tripura. The law and order situation was controlled by Rajiv Singh, IPS, Additional Director General of Police ( L & O) Tripura. It has now decided that A. K. Shukla, IPS, Director General of Police, Tripura will monitor the law and order situation in case of 2-Tripura East (ST) Parliamentary Constituency election.
