New Delhi, Apr 19 (UNI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi remembered the sacrifice of Lord Jesus Christ, his life, rich ideals and exemplary courage on the occasion of Good Friday.

'Today we remember the sacrifice of Lord Jesus Christ. His life, rich ideals and exemplary courage are a source of strength for many,' Modi said in a tweet.

Teachings of Lord Christ emphasise a world free from inequality and injustice, he said.

Good Friday commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus and his death at Calvary. It is observed during Holy Week as part of the Paschal Triduum on the Friday preceding Easter Sunday,

The Prime Minister also wished the people of the country on Hanuman Jayanti, saying Life of Lord Hanuman, his dedication and devotion were source of inspiration for all.

'Lots of wishes on Hanuman Jayanti. The life of 'Pawan Putra', his dedication, his devotion and determination inspire us to fight against the evils,' Modi said in a tweet.

In Hinduism, Hanuman is an ardent devotee of Rama. Lord Hanuman, known as the Lord of Celibacy was an ideal "Brahmachari" and is one of the central characters of the epic Ramayana.
