Kerala: Christians observe Good Friday

Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 19 (UNI) Christians in Kerala observed Good Friday commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

Believers thronged churches across the State in large numbers to attend special prayers and observed fast.

Depicting the final moment of Christ, believers walked several kilometres carrying crosses on their shoulders as part of processions taken up by churches in the State.

Good Friday is followed by Easter celebration on Sunday commemorating the resurrection of Christ.

In a message, Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala said "On this day, let's imbibe the teachings of Jesus to forgive and remember prayers to focus on what Jesus did for mankind."

"Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied. May the grace and glory of the Lord surround you and be with you on this #GoodFriday!," he said in a tweet.
